Dr. Joseph Corning is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He did his medical internship and residency at Hartford Hospital. In 1986, he was named “Outstanding Intern of the Year” at Hartford Hospital. He completed his fellowship at Brown University.


He joined Middlesex Cardiology in 1991. He has served on the Connecticut Board of Directors for the American Heart Association. Dr. Corning is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and in Nuclear Cardiology. He is a member of ASNC. Dr. Corning is the Director of Nuclear Cardiology at Middlesex Cardiology Associates. He is on staff at Middlesex Hospital where he is a senior attending physician. He is co-director of the cardiac catheterization lab at Middlesex Hospital, where he performs diagnostic cardiac catheterizations. He is certified in Nuclear Cardiology and a member of ASNC. Dr. Corning has held an academic appointment as assistant clinical professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.


Dr. Corning has been voted amongst the Top Cardiologists in Connecticut for Hartford Magazine. He was also named as one of the Best Doctors In America for 2017-2018 based on a physician poll.

Dr Corning provides experienced inpatient and outpatient care for acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
